B-787 > delayed yet again <

Post by Glidepath »

edit:
Boeing's B-787 rightfully deserves its Seven-Late-Seven nickname by now, as a new delay has been formally announouced.
Hence its first customer has to be even longer patient.
Set Delivery Date Failure is closing in on its 3rd annum.

Boeing (c.s.) was harsh on the delay with the french A380 airliner giant.
This may hopefully learn them a lesson in humbleness and respect.

in dutch
Boeing's B-787 verdient intussen daadwerkelijk zijn Seven-Late-Seven bijnaam want hij heeft heeft opnieuw vertraging opgelopen!
Boeing's eeste B-787 klant moet dus opnieuw geduld tonen.
De aflever-vertraging beloopt nu al tegen de 3 jaar.

Boeing (c.s.) heeft destijds vrij hard afgegeven op de Franse concullega's en hun A380 luchtreus.
Wellicht is dit een lesje in nederigheid en :respect:

Note this is an English Only area ;)

Where do you read the latest delay? And how long is that delay?

I think it's a picture perfect example of: 'Boontje komt op zijn loontje' and 'Koekje van eigen deeg'
What comes around goes around.

2. Only the first costumer???
*1. Delay will last until problem solved (providing nothing else surfaces).

Chorus:
Star Trekking, across the universe,
On the Starship Enterprise, under Captain Kirk!
Star Trekking, across the universe,
Boldly going forward, and things are getting worse!

*2. As the first del.date was set years ago, all orders in the books at the time and for which a provisianal del.date was set (or expected at the buyer side) will suffer in a certain degree as a consequence.
"That is only logically, Jim."

There has been news here and there about it. The problems is with the Trent 1000 and should push back first delivery another 3 months.

Indeed, the real trouble will come with ramping up production. Nothing shows so far that Boeing will be able to do that as they once wanted (to produce 10 per month if I am correct). Most problems are with suppliers, exactly the part Boeing has least control over. The first customers might actually still be lucky....
