To celebrate 100 years of Swedish aviation during the weekend of the 21th August there was a festival organised in Stockholm City. At the field called "Gärdet", in front of the Technical Museum there was the show ground and a small landing strip on the grass for a few light planes. 100 years ago in 1910 the first airshow was also organised here. The program contained air displays with helicopters among which were a HKP15 from the armed forces, two oldies a Hkp5 and 6 and a demo from the rescue team with their Sikorsky. Besides that there were fly pasts planned from the Swedish AF Historical Flight, SAS A330 and other historical props among which was the nearly 100 years old Bleriot. Original airframe restored by the Technical Museum and Mikael Carlson. Despite (as always) some drop outs from the program and technical or weather problems it was a nice event. Not to big but in a nice setting. On Sunday I also took the chance to see what I could get from on top of the TV tower that is located next to the field. It turned out to give an amazing and surprising view on both the event and the city!!

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Well, not the kind of background scenery you mostly see...
You certainly accomplished that during this event!I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo

Thanks for the positive comments guys!!
@Kevin: Yes I did get myself to Göteborg for the whole weekend. Now I "just" have to run those photos through PS. But I can promise some nice shots again. Lets hope indeed in 2011 finally the Viggen can make it to the show, however it was not bad at all this year...
CYA!
