Re: Image sizes on the net your POV
I find 1200 px to be the best option for myself, and when viewing the pictures on other people's computer. 1024 is to small, and 1600 to big, even for my 28'' monitor. When I upload my photo's to Jetphoto's they are mainly 1200 px's.

Re: Image sizes on the net your POV
On this 15" notebook I am using at work, at 1280*800 resolution, I would choose the 900 px to keep the image within my screen. Have to try this at home at my 17" screen though...

Re: Image sizes on the net your POV
The 1024px seems te one best suitable for most screens (also because of scrolling).
although a 2400x1400 fits right at home....
Cheers,

Re: Image sizes on the net your POV
I have been posting in 1024 pixels wide lately. It seems to best fit most monitor screens.

Re: Image sizes on the net your POV
I believe the web-standard is still 640x480 (4:3) pixels and it's 3:2 equivalent.
I myself keep the images on 800 or 900 pixels at the longest side.
There are two reasons for me why:
1. To keep the images small for controlling bandwidth usage and fast download times for people who do not have a fast connection.
2. Piracy and copyrights. A photograph which has more then 1200 pixels can be used in print. Not at 300dpi at certain sizes but it is very usable.

Re: Image sizes on the net your POV
Hi Criz,
From your options I prefer the 1024 x 768, as this fits the frame of my browser without having to scroll up or down to see the whole photo. Just like Kier and many others, I hate scrolling. Photos should be visible at once for all of the shot.
Personally I use 900 x 600 for my images. Its 3:2 with easy numbers.
Cheers,
Iwan

1024 pix would be my choice.
when posting on a forum, i use 800pix most of the times.
not everybody uses a wide screen...

Re: Image sizes on the net your POV
I prefer 900 x 600 myself, and use it for most of my pictures. It fits nicely on a standard 1024 x 768 display.
Enjoy!

1024 it is for me, I also don't like to scroll to see the picture ( I even don't look at them )
