(notes: as I had not been visiting Nörvenich for almost two years now and with the days of Tornado activity there counted now, I used a free morning for the short journey to my former home airbase. Getting there, I was surprised by the presence of a few visiting aircraft, plus flying activity of a “new” special coloured based Tornado. The afternoon was even better with flying activity of three based Tornados in various colour schemes plus departures of seven additional aircraft, including two Eurofighters, two Tornados and even a UH-1D – bringing back memories of better times at Nörvenich. All visiting aircraft were here in connection with a conference. Training approaches of three Polizei helicopters completed this nice day)

Re: Nörvenich (ETNN/QOE) - 2010 MIL
Reputedly JBG-31 are due to recieve only one more EF2000 in 2010,so after the Tornado ceases flying with JBG-31 at the end of June, there will be all of three based active fast jets here.

Re: Nörvenich (ETNN/QOE) - 2010 MIL
spent a few hours at Nörvenich last week in order to complete my personal good-bye to the Tornados of my former home-wing, here are the results, with the highlight comprising a three ship formation of two Tornados (incl. the special coloured one) plus the only flying Eurofighter of the Wing. The other based Eurofighter, 30+23 is reported to be unservicable due to problems with the ejection seat, which can not be resolved due to lack of money ... ). Former JaboG 31 Eurofighters 31+16 and 31+14 are reported to have been transfered to Laage and Neuburg respectively ...
As last week was the last flying week of based Tornados at Nörvenich, it might become rather calm there for the rest of the year or so ...
