But the big news here is not 5 more A321 to Finnair (they have 6 already), but that these will be of the ER variant to replace the B757. They will be equipped with winglets! Since when are these winglets on offer?

Erwin
According Flightglobal Finnair will cancel an order for 2 Airbus A330 to launch this order.

I am not sure what to make of this order.... ITAR-TASS reports that a Malaysian company called Crecom Burj Resources has placed an order for 50 MS-21 planes. The new Russian plane that is supposed to compete with the A320 and B737. Crecom will place these planes with various airlines in Asia. So it sounds like Crecom is a new leasing company. Report here.

I wonder...

It is indeed some sort of lease company, and in 5-6 years (when the first MS-21 is expected to enter service) a lot can happen so we'll see if this Russian 'wonderbird' will live so see daylight

Edit: also take a look Here for some scalemodels and further discussion; IMHO it really looks like a EMB-195-bodykit wrapped around a A321

The order for 20 Sukhoi SSJs atributed to Alitalia in the annual report of Sukhoi has now been withdrawn as being a 'mistake'.
Exactly how such a mistake was made is not all that clear, I suppose that Alitalia has expressed interest in the aircraft, and perhaps Sukhoi mixed up slots reserved for a potential order (which is suggested in the article), with an actual order. Another possibility is that Alitalia has made a deal with one of the leasing companies that have ordered the type, and Sukhoi mistakenly referred to that deal as being an order.

Lufthansa (LH/DLH) has exercised purchase rights for 8 CRJ900NGs from Bombardier.
These will most likely be placed with Lufthansa Regional partner Eurowings, which already operates 15 of the 900 series.

Although it is in German.

Or here http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/20 ... a330s.html

Also to be found here: http://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/news/?ID=35505

Although they speak of an earlier order for 10 A332's which seems incorrect since SU ordered 5 A332's and 5 A333's.

Farnborough has started and so a new order frenzy. First one I could find official confirmation of is an order by ALC - Air Lease Corp (a new leasing company) ordering 20x A321 and 31x A320. Press release is on the Farnborough site of Airbus.
Emirates supposedly has ordered another 30 B777-300ER, but I haven´t been able to find any confirmation of this order. Rumours are quoting anything from 20 to 36.

Air Lease Corp is indeed a new leasing company, but is run by Steven Udvar-Hazy (the former head of ILFC), so has plenty of experience behind it.
Should be interesting to see this company grow.

Confirmed as 30, of which 18 had already been booked by Boeing as being for an unidentified customer.
