Omani Air Force: last BAC 1-11 retired end of July

BAC 1-11 "553" will be officially retired from active service with the Royal Air Force of Oman on the 16th of July 2010, unless operational requirements dictate otherwise.

"553" , which was in service with the RAFO for 35 years, will not be going to RIAT for a "last last last farewell visit", nor will she be preserved in the UK. The same applies to the other two BAC 1-11s.

It may be that "551" will be put in the Sultan's Armed Forces Museum in Muscat, Oman.
