RNZAF Boeing 757 Display- CANCELLED - 01 June 2010
It is with great disappointment that we have to announce the cancellation of the Boeing 757 display at this years airshow. We recieved an e-mail from the New Zealand High Commision apologising for the cancellation, sadly this is beyond our control, due to tasking by the NZ government.

42 Sqn RNZAF operate two Boeing 757-200 series aircraft in support of the New Zealand Armed Forces and Goverment. Their tasking can range from the transportation of Government officials, troop transport and cargo operations around the world.

The aircraft was due to arrive in the UK next week, visiting Biggin Hill Air Fair, Waddington and RIAT. Sadly the whole detachment has now been cancelled.

Press launch has been now, some pics, although mostly people and aircraft only as background are here. (Isn't that football finished during RIAT  ?)

Romanian Air Force and An-32 from Sri-Lanka among the cancellations.
But a good addition F-15 flying :D and the Kiwi 757 should be there.

hopefully there will be a "huge update" next or the upcoming week, otherwise this years RIAT is one of boring the past years (beside the F22 + Super Hornet)

Nothing can beat 2009 in feebleness. I would instead pray for better weather compared to prior years ...

Could everyone please stop complaining about the quality of the expected participants? Just accept what will be there. If the list isn't attractive enough to go to the RIAT, then just stay at home. It is not a new development and this matter has been discussed in the past on different occasions. This forum is just to inform everyone what will be present.

Kind regards,
Michael

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in MY list of abbreviations (afkortingen in Dutch), "FSM" stands for "Full Scale Mock-up"... let's not get overly excited here

For the rest, I agree with Patrol 321 and Crizz.

Can't remember to have read it already at any of the forums, but yesterday, when I visited the "normal" (non FRIAT, I mean) participants list, I also saw one of the 303 Squadron's AB-412SPs was listed there as static. Maybe not a major WOWWIE, but they also have already served the longest part of their RNLAF life (at least in their current role), as 303 is to convert to the NH-90 in the not too distant future.
