Swedish Airshow Weekend (29-30 May 2010)
Hej all!
The last weekend of May was a weekend full of airshows here in Sweden. On both Saturday and Sunday there was the Flygfesten at Söderhamn Airport and on Sunday the yearly, famous Roll Out Airshow at Västerås Airport. I went to Söderhamn on Saturday and Västerås on Sunday.
Söderhamn was a bit of a disappointment... the weather was not so perfect, but that doesnt matter. However, it was typical Swedish as one was facing full sun the whole day. I dont know how they are thinking in Sweden but an airshow with the sun right behind the display line... ... Then, there was the 2m high fence along the runway... and the programme was not so good as expected, fi the Tunnan didnt show up.
The Västerås Roll Out was much nicer indeed, as always! Excellent weather, better light conditions and the perfect access to all aircrafts (both flying and static). The show was smaller than last year but still good. Today's disappointment was the no-show of the Draken... it had some problems with the ejection seat or so, so it couldnt come. It can happen of course with those old machines... Nevertheless, a very enjoyable day!
ENJOY!

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Re: Swedish Airshow Weekend (29-30 May 2010)
you did a great job again!
the mix of old and new is just great, should have been a great weekend even with the few dissapointments.
Your colours just seem so vibrant and still not out of place and still looking natural, although the frontal viggen, suppose its the black knight one(?) shot seems to be too blue/purple-ish, but that might have been on purpose as its very Swedish now
greets
Joren

Thanks for the nice comments all!
And indeed Joren, the Viggen shot has on purpose been adjusted in this way.
For the number of the Hunter: although right now it hasnt any civil registration applied, it should be the one belonging to the Swedish Airforce Historical Flight: ex J-4082, now SE-DXM. It received a new paint job for this year in the Acro Hunters demo team colours, before it flew around in its old Swiss colour scheme (see the pic here http://www.fvphoto.nl/BG/FGoteborgAS09/PICT5164af.JPG" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).
greetings and till next week!
Corné
