AN-26 makes Emergency landing on frozen lake @ Tallinn

An Exin Poland AN-26 (SP-FD?) that flew Helsinki-Tallinn on behalf of DHL was forced to make an emergency landing on the frozen Lake Ulemiste. The cause is believed to be engineproblems although during the preparation on landing in Tallinn the LG also failed to lower complete; during the go-around one of the engines failed as well.

Despite the landing was made on a frozen lake the authorities rush to drain the plane as it is starting to sink through the melting ice & this particular lake is also used to provide drinkingwater and they want to prevent contamination.

Adios, H.
