A300 freighter badly damaged in Afghan landing

By Tolga Ozbek

Turkish cargo carrier ACT Airlines is investigating a landing accident at Bagram, Afghanistan, in which one of its Airbus A300B4 freighters suffered substantial damage.

None of the five crew members on the aircraft, which was ferrying freight from Bahrain, was injured.

ACT Airlines has identifed the twin-jet involved as bearing registration TC-ACB.

Preliminary information indicates that the aircraft was operating a service for DHL in Bahrain, and experienced a hydraulic problem with its landing-gear.

Based on the picture the aft pressure bulkhead will be the critical part if its affordable to repair this bird

(personal I think its eassier and cheaper to replace this bird but ACT has the final call; although they are not that well equiped as Emirates/ Melbourne incident with the A340-500)
