Short summary: on Saturday the 2nd of January 2010 at about 16.30 hrs local time the second eldest Belgian female pilot was overcome by a sudden fierce very local snow storm during landing at Ursel Aerodrome, not that far from Gent/Ghent in Belgium. Her Cessna C172 crashed, killing both occupants. Due to prevalent bad weather conditions locally both the scrambled Belgian Sea King and police helicopter had to stop assisting in the search.
The bodies were recovered only this Sunday as rescue services could not reach the point of impact without difficulties because of the rather dense forest the Cessna crashed into.
