Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

You can actually fight those tickets. Did you make some pics of the scenery aswell, send them to the CJIB (centraal justitieel incassobureau). My uncle did the same and won it...planespotters.nl wrote:Getting a 60 euro bill for parking on a white cross which you can't see due snow!
Good luck!

... and again I get less respect for Dutch police then what I had already.
I really wonder how this (and other) policemen gets satisfied with their job at the end of the day,... after giving these kind of stupid penalties!

It sounds obvious to me you'll get these 60 euro's back, but I've learned that what's obvious to me, isn't directly obvious to the police/CJIB... Good luck!

Hi planespotters.nl,
Discussing about this bill is not in the right topic here, but it looks like you were on the bridge near spot 16, on the Scarmble airfield guide, isn't it ?
It that case, that is a stupid place to park your car. Covered by snow, or not.
Regards
Cees

There is enough parking space next to it, 5 minute walk..
Re: AMS / EHAM 23-12-2009 Phototopic
Let me be the 'advocaat van de duivel', but I think you could have known this?
Or was it the first time you were there?
Nevertheless, just fight the bill.

If I may make one final comment on the parking warrant:
Looks like to me that you're a local around SPL. So you could have known that parking an front of a crash gate is prohibited. judging on the photo, you parked right an front of it on the bridge.

@ Cees van der Bent:
Amen to that. It's a crash gate. One should know better, there's even a sign on the fence. How ignorant can one be?

@ the others, and regarding my previous post;
indeed, after checking the background on the picture more, this is definitely the crashgate. And then, I indeed also share opinions that it's not correct to park there. That's a common-sense thing...
Nevertheless, I do not agree with this penalty. A police officer should know better in such cases and should agree with the unreadable sign. A warning would've been better...
Fighting against such 60 euro penalties just cost a lot of time and pressure on your personal time... sometimes it's not even worth it (for the money).
