Ecuador AF HAL Dhruv crashes at Quito 27-10-2009

An Ecuadorian HAL Dhruv helicopter crashed during a flyby over Quito Airbase when celebrating the 89th anniversary of the Ecuadorian Armed Forces on Tuesday October 27, 2009. It was flying as part of a 3-ship formation when it flipped over and crashed onto the runway. The two occupants escaped serious injury, but the helo looks like a w/o. It was one of seven bought from India last year. As a result of the crash, the other 6 (including the presidential helo) are currently grounded.
