Re: USAF F16s collide
According New York Daily News,
US Air Force officials say a missing fighter pilot probably died instantly when his fighter jet collided with another plane over the Atlantic Ocean.
Authorities on Saturday night (Sunday NZ) called off the search for Captain Nicholas Giglio, who has been missing since the Thursday night crash.
Air Force Colonel Joe Guastella says experts analysed data from the second plane, which landed safely, and interviewed the surviving pilot to determine Giglio's fate.
The colonel says investigators believe parts on the bottom of the second plane pierced into the canopy of Giglio's plane on Thursday night as they collided about 48 kilometres northeast of Charleston.
The airman's family was told a few hours before the announcement.
so this is a very said news: condoling to the family of Captain Nicholas Giglio
