Scanners are strictly forbidden and the gendarmerie could be less friendly if they see one....

Concerning our earlier question, about the newly coded Army Gazelles. Having read the Military News section in the latest Scramble edition (especially the subscript with the Gazelle-picture and the updates on page 65), may I safely presume the serials are the following:

4205/GPB and 4118/GEA ?
Are these codes from the first arrivals of the gazelles or from the "Way back" ?

Arnold,

I'm interested in the same information. Would like to know when they will depart Dijon heading back to Saudi Arabia. I hope to make some plans to go there next week, and do not which to be too late.

Any flightplans scheduled so far perhaps?

If the GRAS are visiting next week, can they (Gips?) confirm the FMS of the Eagles so we know exactly which aircraft they are?

Regards and thanks

Hey guys

Marcel, Melchior and I came back yesterday from Dijon (wednesday) and Axalp (thursday). Taking pictures at Dijon was absolutely perfect. I don't know if we could have done it better if we would have had a basevisit, but we might have been extremely lucky.

On Wed 7-10, We had all 6 Eagles flying, serials and departure times:

Morning mission, together with four Mirage 2000 and a couple of Alpha Jets
512 F-15C 5sq, Dep 08:59 Arr 10:37
533 F-15D 5sq, Dep 08:59 Arr 10:39
506 F-15C 5sq, Dep 09:05 Arr 10:35
510 F-15C 5sq, Dep 09:05 Arr 10:36

Afternoon Mission
501 F-15C 5sq, Dep 13:03 Arr 14:42
506 F-15C 5sq, Dep 13:04 Arr 14:44
505 F-15C 5sq, Dep 13:09 Arr 14:31
510 F-15C 5sq, Dep 13:09 Arr 14:32

We had no trouble with the Gendarme here. They passed by a couple of times and at the end of the day, the Gendarme came to check up when we were at the crashgate, noting down pasport data and car licence plates. Very friendly and no problem at all.

Here you can see us next to the runway, there is a side road where you can park. This is between spot 2 and 3 at the Scramble airfield guide.

Hi all,

A log from 9-10-2009. Stayed there between 10:00 and 15:00 hours. Unfortunetaly the Saudi's didn't fly in the morning. Only 1 mission in the afternoon. Only 4 Alpha's flew in the morning. A surprise visit of a C-160Gabriel made up big time for the very quiet hours.
At noon a couple of Mirage 2000C's took off with a lone 2000B which didn't return. A half hour later another 2000C took off together with an Alpha Jet and the Saudi F-15C's (one C and the D remained on the ramp)! Around the same time also a Super Puma and supposedly a Caracal could be observed taking off. At 13:00 a CN-235 was unfriendly enough to use only the last half of the runway and therefor could only be watched from a distance away. A half hour later another 4 Alpha's took off.
Around 15:00 hours every aircraft had returned. Due to the French airbases being known not to be too active anymore at friday afternoons and the Saudíes supposed to be flying only one mission we left for the Savigny les Beaune museum. Later that afternoon still a lot of jetnoise could be heard from that museum.

C-160G F221/GS EE01.054
Mirage 2000B 526/115-YP EC 01.005
CN-235 160/62-IS ET 62
F-15C 501 (on ramp), 506, 510, 512 5 Sqn
F-15D 533 (on ramp)
AS-332 Armee de l'air
EC-725 Armee de Terre

Alpha Jet E ETE 02.002
E26/102-ND, E91/102-ML, E105/102-FM, E140/102-FA, E87/102-LC, E29/102-NB, E105/102-FM

Mirage 2000C EC 01.002
41/102-FZ, 56/102-EG, 74/102-MK, 71/102-EE

Anyone for the choppers?

Many thanks and best regards,

On tuesday there will be a ceremony at Dijon, and the defence minister from Saudi Arabia will be present, so you might expect some Saudi visitors.

Hi Stephan,

You seem to be pretty well informed. Can you confirm the departure from Dijon back to Saudi Arabia will be on Friday 16th of October, or is an other date planned for the flight back home?

Cheers!

Hi everybody, :D
any log of today's activities? ...

At 16:45 B, I've heard a heavy sound dogfight over the eastern part of France.
:evilbat:
This means rafale or ... F-15.

By the way, can anybody tell us the average Saudian F-15 mission length from Dijon ?

Thanks.

I was present at the press-day last friday, and a Mirage 2000 and an F15 were parked in special postition, head to head.
When I asked for the reason the press officer from Sirpa-air told me that this was for the special event planned for tuesday.
