LAVEX 2009
Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

LAVEX 2009
First of all
Words can't express the sorrow I feel for the family and friends of the pilots of 1023sq that tragically died.
Libya made a long lasting memory in all kinds of ways.

Beautiful images, particularly the second one. Great angle on the Fitter.

Hi,
Great pictures! Were these made in the weekend before the show? We were not allowed to stay until dusk unfortunately. Some contributions from me:

4. Chinook in the old colourscheme:
5. Just could not resist to sit in a Libyan MiG-25!
6. Il-76:
7. The SF260 team performed with three a/c on tuesday, later they performed with 4 aircraft:
8. This Mi-14 made some low passes along the beach:
9. Mirage F1, taken from the beach outside the base:

Re: LAVEX 2009
Some more from this (nowadays) ever friendly country.
F1BD 204 with the paint still smelling
Su-22M-4
MiG-23UB 8423 banking for the last time. During the next manoeuvre it crashed
Mitiga based L39ZO displayed every day
Maybe for the friendly pilots section. After a very impressive display the Rafale just taxied through the public (as planned) to reach its stand at the other end, with about two Libyans taking care of safety
Departure from the International airport provided a nice opportunity to see some stored aircraft, including six out of the seven LAA F27s.
Eight Il76s at Tripoli International (three more were on the south side of the runway)
