IDF/AF F-16 crashed

An IDF/AF F-16 crashed in the Westbank today. The pilot, Asaf Ramon, son of Ilan Ramon who got killed in the spaceshuttle disaster, was unfortunately killed in the accident.
Due to this crash all F-16's in the IDF/AF are grounded pending investigation.

Israeli jet crashes in West Bank

An Israeli F-16 fighter jet has crashed in the West Bank, killing the pilot.
The pilot, Asaf Ramon, was the son of Israel's only astronaut Ilan Ramon, who died in the explosion of the space shuttle Columbia in 2003.
Sunday's crash took place in a hilly area near the city of Hebron, military officials said.
It was not immediately clear why the single-seat warplane went down, they added.

Wow, again a crash? About a week again Israeli F-16's were grounded due to an accident.

According to this info he flew in a Nevatim based F-16A (one of the OCU-sq's). He graduate last June...

According to a Israeli (military)forum, the plane involved the crash could be possible 140 from 140sq. This F-16A was reserialled to ''140'' as 140sq - The Golden Eagle Sqn-flagship a few years ago. Possible former ID should be 236. Can anyone confirm this?
