LH Regional fleet change

Post by Hurricane »

http://www.luchtvaartnieuws.nl/news/?ID=32116

Short listed:

LH is going to replace 45 CRJ-200 & ATR's & BAe146/RJ's with Emb-190's & CRJ900. There is no final schedule yet.
The first badge of Bae146's is already in storage and the first CRJ's are also leaving.

The beauties..... just wondering how much of them they will be getting. I don't suppose they will replace them 1-for-1, that would almost double the capacity!
But the article on Luchtvaartnieuws is only mentioning ATRs and CRJs. However, Lufthansa Cityline and Eurowings are no longer operating the ATR. So would that be the ARJ then, as Hurricane mentiones? In that case the quoted numbers are still weird. According to Airfleets, Lufthansa Cityline operates 18 ARJs and 21 CRJ100/200s. Eurowings operates 10 ARJs and 18 CRJ100/200s. Together that is 67! A lot more than the 45. So it will be interesting to see what is actually going to happen and which planes are going to be withdrawn.

and where does it say that CRJ700's are going to be replaced?
so far only CRJ200's are fased out....
146 + CRJ 200 makes about 40 and maybe a handfull of ATR (Contact Air?) makes about 45!

My bad, the leaving planes come from LH Cityline/ Eurowings and Contactair.

Makes sense, would just top the mentioned 45 actually. That would mean it is LH Cityline and Contactair only, not Eurowings.

or....

it is CRJ100/200 only and the Contactair ATRs, that would be 21 + 18 + 10 (or so). Enough again....

All should be stationed with Augsburg.

As mentioned in the first post: The planes will be gathered from all LH-partners; some CRJ's from Cityline, some BAe's from Eurowings (around 5 are already stored in CGN) and likely some ATR's from Contactair (they already lost quite some planes last year so not many are left). Even WDL is affected as LH dropped some lease contracts and some BAe's are returning to the lessor right now.

Ah, ok, I thought the article just wasn´t clear. Thanks for clearing that up. Indeed we will see. In any case I am looking forward to many more ERJ.190s in Europe!

No problem; after searching the Embraer site I found that the Emb195 deal consist of 30 Jets; to be delivered to LH & Partners (like Augsburg, Cityline and surpricing me: Air Dolomiti (5x, already delivered) leaving 25 for now.

LH Cityline now has taken delivery of its first ERJ.195, after Air Dolomiti and Augsburg already took 5 each. Interestingly enough, the picture on Luchtvaartnieuws shows this one carrying ´Cityline´ titels. Just like the Augsburg ones are carrying ´Augsburg AW´ titles and not Lufthansa.

Apparently all Lufthansa Regional partners are moving towards having the aircraft painted in the LH Regional livery, but with their own titles. The latest Contact Air F100 (the one involved in the incident in STR) is also an example of this.
