Small but great report, Melchior

Noticed, hotels are very close to SJU airport; any recommendations

Also.....is SJU a spotter's friendly airport (have seen great shots both on A.net and planepictures.net, so, I guess so...)

All spotting at SJU was from the airplane itself. But if you look at airliners you will see many pictures taken at a local bar/restaurant where you have a great view on the northern runway. Spotting at Isla Grande is very easy. Just take the road south of the runway for the military area and take the split to the north for the civilian aircraft.
(I'm still busy with the airfield guide).

There are indeed plenty of hotels around. I stayed in the Hilton but there are many more.
