Today's Pilot - 30-Aug-2009

August 29: Taking first and third in the individual competition at Silverstone in the UK and also the team prize was the French team, a mix of military and civilian pilots, flying Extra 330s.

First place went to Lieutenant Renaud Ecalle, a fighter pilot with the French Air Force who flew the Mirage F1 before joining its Salon de Provence based ‘Equipe de Voltige’ last year. In third place was Captain Francois Le Vot, a former Mirage 2000 pilot and Alpha Jet instructor.

In second place in the individual competition was Russian Alexander Krotov flying a Sukhoi Su-26. Russia also took the runner-up position in the team competition, with the USA third and Great Britain fourth.
