Re: Exercise at AAC Netheravon
I can confirm that the following Lynx Mk 7 aircraft were at Netheravon for the exercise mentioned:
XZ 216
XZ 654
XZ 674
They are all based at Gütersloh, 1 Regt AAC.
XZ 674 was indeed at RAF Northolt the week prior - it was me flying it!

Re: Exercise at AAC Netheravon
Seen at and around Netheravon on sunday july 19th between 15.00-16.10h:
Merlin HC3A (ZJ995)/AD on grass
Chinook HC2A ZH895 on grass
2x Sea King ASaC7 on base (should be ZD636/CU-182 and ZE420/189)
4x Apache AH1 on base (right from Sea Kings)
1x Apache landing for hotrefuelling outside base at 16.05h, on photo could be read "Z..58", so it should be ZJ168?
2 Chinooks were seen taking off near road nr.338 (so the 2nd should be ZA714/AV ?)
preserved at the gate were Gazelle AH1 XZ346 and Scout AH1 (XV13)6.
Maybe anyone can help me with the other Apache's? (I know there were 6 or 7 sunday).
Another question: at RAF Upavon (close to Netheravon) we saw 5 gliders outside, most of them all in red covers. One was read as "JLG" in red on tail, is this a civil glider and were the RAF gliders inside???
TIA,
Erik

Re: Exercise at AAC Netheravon
Gents,
There were six Apache AH.1's present on Sunday morning the 19th (between 08:00 and 10:00 that is). Some flew which were easy to read off while refuelling, others were more difficult but couldn't hide from my 60x scope, but one still managed to defy identification...
ZJ168
ZJ190
ZJ209
ZJ220
ZJ233
ZJ...
Cheers,
Marco
