Spottersday Beauvechain Open House 2009
This morning it was possible for spotters to visit Beauvechain before the big crowds were allowed access to the base. Unfortunately the static show was - except for an AdT SA341 which was moved from a different part of the air base - impossible to photograph but the Belgian Air Component (a big thank you from me) made it possible to visit the other side were some BAC Alpha Jets, AdlA Emb121's and AdlA TB30's could be photographed on the flightlines. Here a very quick and very small impression:
I left Beauvechain around 1300 so what happened in the afternoon I hope to see later here...
cheers Jeroen

Very nice and sharp pictures! Especially the line up of the alpha jets.
In the afternoon a few c-130's and embraers came over, do you have pictures of those ?

It was indeed not easy to take pictures with the fences so close to the aircraft (without the use of a wide-angle lens), but there were some nice trainers present!
Here just a couple (don't have the time to edit more right now) from me:
Best regards,
Walter

Hi there,
I think the airbase did a good job in creating nice photograph oppertunities at least when you arrived early. There was not much time wasted to pay, I was in line for max 10minutes1!!! A record I think From 10.30u we where transported to the other side of the base by busses. This is what we spotters want, we where able to see the alpha jets in the hangar and later on the platform, after that the bus drove further too an other platform. Here you could see the cartouche doréé team (nice surprise for me!) and there where 4 xingu's ánd a hangar with another 3 pc-21's!!! On the way back to the public area the czech let410 was also visible for 5 seconds
Here a couple of pics from my side:
I also visited the museum on base ...
To bad it was a very hot day, I left the airbase at 14.30u .
Did anyone see the airshow?

Re: Spottersday Beauvechain Open House 2009
nice pics every1!
Hope 2 see some pics of the takeoffs and flyby's later on ...
There should have been more shadow-filled places.
Other than that ... great organization for us spotters!!
small edition from me
the 2 main reasons for the open door
aircadets
nice livery
hungarians
some takeouts
Czech in black (and white)
golden oldies
1 Wing Historical Centre
'crash crew'
I had never heard about the Slivers before ... the idea of an F104 demonstration team which performed for example the 'touch-roll-touch' manouvre simultaniously crossing each other over the runway !!!
Found this (ancient)video on the tube about the Slivers (made by 'thibautjypy'); also old Fouga Magister footage at the end!

That's it from me. Keep up the good work every1.
Hope 2 see some pics of the takeoffs and flyby's later on ...
I agree on the nice weather ... warm and humid though , took too long 4 us to wait at the runway in the burning sun untill 'flying display'/ takeoffs began.j@@p

Went to Beauvechain last Tuesday. I had no idea what to expect. I was happy to see allot of plane I've never seen before
The fences were put close to the planes... So I tried to take some 'other' pics.
I just love this plane Nice thing to take pics
Beauvechain would be nothing without the Marchetti's! There were two special paint in the static.
Nice detail
Glad to see this one!
What a tail...
Another one I like
To bad I never saw one of these in the air!
Hunter ...
Nice paint
After that we could stand on the Controltower to take pics of the fly-by's. Even there we were still to far for good pics!
Belgian flag. Blue should be black :s
Very happy to see this formation
And than everything came dark and it rained and we even had some thunder...
While leaving the base, weather cleared up again and we could take some more static shots
Who will guess the aircraft type?
Hope you like them?!

Nice shot of the Alpha Jets inside the hangar...
Too bad the sky on the Alpha Jet and Xingu's shot is overexposed.
Shouldn't this be a light blue sky in stead of white?
Regards Rob.

Ha Robmans, the sky on my screen is blue. Maybe a bit too light blue, dunno. I'll check my settings again.
Despite that, we had a great day
