Zweibrücken (EDRZ/ZQW) - 2009 MIL

Post by planefixer »

I see in Scramble 355 there is a picture of NAF 029 Dornier 228 arriving at Zweibrucken on the 19/11/2008. Is this aircraft still present? Also have there been any other new arrivals Nigerian arrivals?

Thanks
Tony

Was still there last weekend. What I still would like to know if the hangar is split up in 2 parts? When we visited (2nd of January) we were able to enter the hangar. The hangar is occupied with private aircraft and in the corner the Nigerian Do228. What I'm interested in is if there are more Nigerians still present (in other hangars?). Below the information of all aircraft involved that have been present last year. Dates given are the arrival and last noted dates at Zweibrucken.

NAF028 Do228 -201 8031 grey c/s 17dec07-20oct08 Zweibrucken (ready to go back)
NAF029 Do228 -201 8033 white VIP c/s 22apr07-10jan09 Zweibrucken departed somewhere in 2008 and returned 18nov08
NAF031 Do228 -212 8221 camo c/s 30jun08-07nov08 Zweibrucken

Any recent sightings of the NAF-029 or any other Nigerian Do.228 down here?

Sure: http://www.flugzeugforum.de/forum/showt ... 56&page=25" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It was seen test flying on 26th of March. So it might disappear soon. I've already queried when the next one will appear. Check the Zweiburcken thread on FF.

A white DO-228 with the serial NAF-02(it looked like 9) was seen in the Cirrus hangar at 13.30 local time on 06 April.

This airpland has test-flown,so it's departure can be considered imminent.

The Spanish B707 made what seemed like a missed approach at Ramstein, before turning inbound Zweibrücken. Nice!
