Re: Saint-Dizier (LFSI) - 2009 MIL
There was one Rafale parked outside yesterday (around 17.00h) but due to heatwaves we couldn't read it off.

Just out of curiosity: how sure are you of this? I had a go at it with a 60x telescope around 16:30 local time, but couldn't make anything out of it other than I confirmed it to be a Rafale B

Re: Saint-Dizier (LFSI) - 2009 MIL
Hi there.
Yep, before Reims airshow I was at St Dizier at friday 260609. I had some conversation with one of the local spotters and he had been on base that same week with the St Dizier spottersgroup. According to him, a total of 15 F1's is TDY on St Dizier and will return to Reims on tuesday 300609. We counted 15 pcs on the flightline, they're not parked in shelters. One of the F1B's is the full grey one with red Gascoigne sqn-badge in the tail. From the football field on the west side do some up and down walking and you should be able to see all of them.
I had high hopes but sadly only 4 F1's flew in the afternoon, 30 mins after TO allready back on deck...
Rafales only 8 pcs, but hey, the eighties are over and then again we can still see those the coming 20 years!
Rafale B:315/113-HK--311/113-HD--326/113-HY--319/113-HN--327/113-HZ--318/113-HM--328/113-IC plus 1.

F1CR: 655/112-NG
M2000D: 613/113-MO
Ajet: E112/118-AO
Did not see any of the Mirage/Jaguar mentioned earlier and did not drive to the maingate as gateguards allready seen before.

Hi all,
a few heli-serials from my side to the codes from Patrick. Indeed, it was a great day

1073 SA.330B French Army CZN; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
1092 SA.330B French Army CZQ; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
1171 SA.330B French Army CZA; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
1447 SA.330B French Army CZG; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
1369 SA.341F French Army CWC; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
4218 SA.342L-1 French Army CXO; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
4220 SA.342L-1 French Army CXT; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg

???? SA.342M French Army CWK; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
4179 SA.342M French Army CWP; 1.RHC, Phalsbourg
So, you see, there are 2 problems to solve
1. SA.342M CWQ -> 3858 or 3868?
2. SA.342M CWK - Serial ???
Also flying were:
650 Mirage F-1CR French Air Force 112-NZ; ER02.033, Reims
654 Mirage F-1CR French Air Force 112-NC; ER02.033, Reims
680 Mirage 2000D French Air Force 133-XM; EC02.003, Nancy

625 Mirage 2000D French Air Force 133-XG; EC02.003, Nancy
611 Mirage 2000D French Air Force 133-JP; EC02.003, Nancy
233 & 236 Mirage F-1CT carried "CT Le Retour N´DJ 77" titles!!!
By the way, does anybody know if the is a exercise going on? I mean, so many helis and 2000D´s in St. Dizier, is not normal, isn´t it?

Re: Saint-Dizier (LFSI) - 2009 MIL
pfff come on, I think you didn't read the numbers from the Gazelles and Pumas yourself. Everyone could take them from the DB at Scramble and others but now you suggest you readed them youreself. I sorted them out myself but removed the serials because they were not red off. And if you copy them do it right. Puma, 1043/CZM is a i/a at Bourges now and most last notes are from 2007.
And if you want to mention the serials you didn't read off yourself please report it in what sort of way.

Hi Patrick,
first off all, I am really shocked about your tone!!!
Do we have any disput, I didn´t know about???
Have I mentioned that I read them of myself?
I put them here, so that everybody can see them and maybe someone has any newer infos about the correct serials. Otherwise, how do you suggest to get at the correct numbers?
And, in my opinion, a database is there to be trusted ... Otherwise, why the efforts to create and maintain one ...?
Best regards
P.S.: In case you are wondering, fortunately I read the planes of by myself ...

With all due respect, I agree with Patrick (concerning content). Please state in reports when serials were actually read and when not. The databases as we know them are mainly made from logs like these. So if you don't mention in your report that (some) serials are coming straight from a database, you will find above serials in a few weeks in the same database as confirmed (last noted date will be set to June09). For me personally this will mean that unidentified SA342L1 with code 'CXN' could be 4228 when I saw it in April09 as the serial was identified as such after and before this date according the database (however in reality it was only checked in Sept07). Especially sightings of ALAT helicopters are rare (and hard to read) and unfortunately they change code regularly (only Pumas and Gazelles). Therefore looking up ALAT Pumas and Gazelles is tricky!
A database could indeed be helpful to look up serials but only if you know how to use it. Unfortunately not everyone is aware of this. Look for example at airliners.net or similar photo sites. The photographers use databases such as scramble to look up serials (as these photo sites demands a serial) while some people who update these databases use these pictures as source to update the database.
(OT:) Maybe it's an idea to present a little manual (or warning) on the same site 'how to use this database' for non-spotters as the databases are also used by people who have no clue about serials (and for example that an Italian Tornado change code regularly while an Italian C-130 don't) or what the abbreviation g/i,wfu, pre, scr or dum means under status or last and first. (OT)
To finish with some good news, Phalsbourg will be open for public in September and hopefully these sightings will help to fill in your gaps.
