Spent a great day out at Leeuwarden airbase to watch the action with the TDY F-15's from Lakenheath and the Tonka's from Lossiemouth. Flying started at 8.30 with the Tonka's flying off to the Vliehors range followed by the Eagles and Vipers taking of after that. The Tonka's did another wave around 1300 hours followed by another wave of Vipers and Eagles around 1500. So plenty of action in the morning and afternoon and spending lunch in the sun in between.
Two queries:
1. Anyone ID'd the AS532U2 Cougar which came in and left during the day?
2. From the Marssum spottersplace two Eagles could be seen on the 323 Sqn flightline. One was the 84-0001, which one was the Eagle on its lefthand side? Both didn't flew (obviously, As I might have poled them off then..
