Hi,

be aware that several Phantoms are to Canada (12 in total) and the other ones are operating from Jever due to runway repairs at Wittmund.

See also over here

Maybe we are lucky and all Phantoms operating from Jever will arrive again on the 5th of June :D .

Grtz,

Edward

Be wise to park your car in the little village somewhere where it is allowed, and not close to the field, as in the confirmation of the spottersday it is clearly stated that and I quote: The police will remit in the street area around the airfield an absolute no parking..

Can someone confirm (or better... deny!!!) the static display will be held at the runway as stated on some forums on the internet??? If so we might be photographing with backlight as I am correct???

According to http://www.flugzeugforum.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;: "... Das Static soll übrigens auf der Runway stattfinden..."

The confirmation letter I received from PAO JG71 didn't say anything about it... so someone with connections with JG71 please confirm or deny.

It won't be this bad (backlight)... According to sources close to JG71 the static will be held partly 1 in the shelter area (East) and 2 on the flightline (East) and 3 on the runway. The special markings F-4F will be parked in a good photographic position and during the photoshoot turned so that both sides can be photographed. At least that is what sources close to JG71 wrote to me so if it turns out to be different... don't shoot the messenger :-)

cheers Jeroen

BTW as emphasized in the e-mail it is not allowed to climb on the shelters in the shelter area...
