Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
Good evening,
Yesterday (Saturday the 18th of April) I spent a day a the Irrland Freizeitpark in Twisteden. While my children were having fun, the "old man" spent some time thoroughly checking the airframes present...........
At Irrland-Nord three airframes were present.
First of all the PZL-101, in black and white "cow" colours. Inside the cockpit a small plate "PZL-101" was found, yellow stickers showed clearly "CET" (which COULD mean SP-CET). Finally behind the left seat attached to the fuselage-bottom a registration plate "SP-CET" was found (photo's available, but I don't know how to include them to his posting). This makes:
SP-CET PZL-101A Gawron c/n 96177
The all-red Antonov revealed nothing more than the already in an earlier psoting quoted radio-equipment plate "31516". Almost all cockpit writings were in Russian,
which might adjust to the in my opinion valid theory it could be RA31516 as these
kind of radio-plates are important reminders for the serial when in flight......... So:
RA31516 An-2T (PZL-Mielec built) c/n 1G199-25
And last but not least: the blue-green Mill M-2 was quoted in a Sep2007 posting as
being c/n 544602016, which would make it an ex PWL chopper serial 4602.
With an example of how the Mi-2 c/n plate looks like (honestely said not where it's
exactly positionned inside the airframe) I checked the helicopter. Finally a lot of numbers where found like:
"1165258050", stencilled in the cockpit-glass
"1340" small plate at the radio-equipment, exactly on the same position as "31516" inside the An-2 cockpit !
"50 04 055 01 90 9012" on the left seat.
Nothing matches with c/n 544602016, although I don't doubt the Sep2007 report.
Who can help me where to locate exactly the c/n plate, or has got a picture of
this plate inside the Twisteden airframe ? Nevertheless for the sake of completeness:
(4602) Mill Mi-2 c/n 544602016
At "Irrland-Süd" the G91 is exhibited on a pole in fake tiger colours.
(MM6536 / 60-56) Fiat G-91T-1 c/n 86
Just east of the park at the adjacent meadow the fuselage of a G222 is present.
(MM583) / RS-07 Aeritalia G222TCM c/n 4002 ex RSV
Just north of the park in a different meadow both wings, tail section and engine exhausts are also present. The c/n plate stating "G222 NC/002" was found and photographed 18-05-2008.

Remco

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
Hans, thx for the link !
Next time I'll have a better look...........
To be complete entirely:
The address of the Irrland Freizeitpark is:
Am Scheidweg , D-47624 Kevelaer/Twisteden
Opening times: 15 April/25 October 09.00/20.00 (!),
during the summer holiday 09.00/21.00 (untill sunset)
Admission: a mere €3,90
All aircraft can be seen and photographed from outside, but inside the
opportunities are (ofcourse) better............

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
I reported it in September 2007. If (and that's a big if) I remember correctly I read this number at the side of the instrument panel. I wrote it down since it looked to me like a cn and I might took a photo of the number, but I don't have that photo anymore. But I can't exactly remember the things.Buccaneer S.2B wrote:And last but not least: the blue-green Mill M-2 was quoted in a Sep2007 posting as

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
Hello Joost,
Thx for the response ! I didn't doubt the report, just simply curious.......
A small story about the PZL101:
the aircraft type is named "Gawron". It's the Polish word for a male crow. As the
Polish language also contains a word for a female crow (wrona), we might say
the PZL101 is actually a male aircraft...........

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
Today I passed Irrland.
The wings on the G222 are now attached, the engines not in place yet.
Photos could not be taken as the G222 now is inside the compound in a sealed off area.
Outside the compound however i came across this An-2:

No identity known (yet)
Greetz, ron

Hi,
And as the door to the cabin was open, also not either on the frame behind the cockpit or at the aft wall?
(see also http://www.scramble.nl/wiki/index.php?t ... -B%29#An-2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

No c/n plate at the bulkhead behind the engine? If present, should be visible here, with the cowlings missing.Triple Nickel wrote:No identity known (yet)![]()

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
Hmm, the colour scheme reminds me of a Polish registered Antonov that was parked at Besancon-Thise (France) in 2003, more than 7 years ago. At the time, the people at the airfield told me that it was theoretically airworthy but had not flown for some years. Aircraft involved was registered SP-FVM.
This is NOT to say that this actually IS the aircraft involved here! It is at present no more than a suggestion.
I still shot on slide-film back then and all my slides are stored (awaiting a long-term digitalisation operation due to start somewhere in the distant future) so it's no easy task to find photoproof of my belief. I'll see what I can do but it might take some time.

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
The colour scheme of this new An-2 matches exactly SP-FMP c/n 1G147-23 withdrawn after CofA expiry 10jul06 -- but where was it from 2006 until now ?

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
That would make sense, as I discovered in the paper version of Scramble and airliners.net that SP-FVM is now somewhat derelict at (Paris-)Lognes-Emerainville, so that's not the one... (in my own defense: the colour scheme DOES look similar, but not the same...):

SP-FMP was stored dismantled in a hangar at Poznan/Kobylnica from Jun02-May10 at least.

Re: Twisteden - Irrland Park
The G222 has now a fantasy colorsheme.
And the An-2T SP-FMP (ex PolAF 4723) has the wings of SP-FIX (on top of the wings)

Looks like they build a "fake" runway at Irrland with the G222 and AN-2 (?) on the runway ....
