Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. I found some old slides and couldn't find the time to procers them earlier.
Back in the mid-'90's when I flew with the "Vliegclub Rotterdam" there was a group of people flying in formation on the early sunday mornings. I jointed them once and even flew with them (pilot flying) finding out how difficult it was to maintain formation. I can tell from first hand that you follow the lane next to you and even don't notice that your flying with 135 degrees bank.
1. EHRD in tyhe early hours
2.Joining up after take-off
3. Closing in
4. Vic formation, number 3
5. and how close this is.
6. Line astern: if you don't pay notice you clip the frontrunners tail.
7. Banking left
8. and right
