Hi all,
With the new shape of the Message Board I'm not sure where to place this post.....
Today and tomorrow the MLM has its annual storage open days. I'm sure there's a topic about it somewhere, but since I don't know where to look for it I presume more people have the same problem
For more information:
http://www.militaireluchtvaartmuseum.nl ... eumweekend" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And for those who don't speak Dutch: museum is open from 12 till 16:30 both days. Making a reservation for a tour is not possible, tickets are available on the day itself.
I would be very interested in a log for today, and also information on the amount and timing of the bustours! That way I can decide wether I will be going tomorrow or not. Thanks in advance!

Re: MLM storage open days (Soesterberg)
Hi, just got back from Soesterberg. The above log is only from the storage hangar, a lot more can be found in the museum offcourse. To get to this storage hangar there is a bus leaving every 15 minutes from the museum. Once you get to the storage hangar you have some 30 minutes to walk around freely to take pictures and write serial numbers, then the bus leaves again. In my opinion this is just the right amount of time to spent here. You have to obtain your bus access card in the museum itself, there is a big signpost so you can't miss it. The bus card as well as the museum entree fee is for free.I would be very interested in a log for today, and also information on the amount and timing of the bustours! That way I can decide wether I will be going tomorrow or not. Thanks in advance!
Hope this is of any help for you to make your decision.
Regards,
Hilco Schigt

Thanks for the information, this surely helps!
So I understand it's "just" the main storage hangar thjis time, no other shelters or so?

On the airbase you can only enter hangar 7, not the storage in shelters.
Anyone who knows which sqn or helicopter type used the hangars 5,6,7,8?

Re: MLM storage open days (Soesterberg)
Yes, it is just hangar 7.
Hangar 8 by the way is EMPTY.
Nothing left.
We asked to drive by ZULU, but permission was denied.
Shame.
Nevertheless, worthwile visiting.

3rd generation Hangars will stay, oldest ones will be demolished.
Rest will be the new home for sheep etc. Cannot and do not want to think how that looks like.
For now you can see the starting of demolishing, for example building next to no.33
Old Chinook and Cougar hangars will be part of the new museum.
