Peace Xenia IV F-16 deliveries to Greece

Lt.Gen Ionnis Giagkos,chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff accepted the first Peace Xenia IV F-16 Block 52 at a ceremony at Lockheed Fort Worth,Texas on 19 March.

The first four airplanes from this batch of 30 airplanes will be ferried to Araxos for 335 Mira in May and the remainder by the end of 2010.

No doubt Lajes will be the first base outside of the USA to see these airplanes.

Can somebody explain what exactly the Peace Xenia IV is?

The fourth batch of F-16s purchased by the Hellenic Air Force.

The first batch would be Peace Xenia 1,etc.

Peace Xenia 1 F-16s 110 to 149(40 a/c)

Peace Xenia 11 F-16s 045 to 084(40 a/c)

Peace Xenia 111 F-16 500 to 539 and 600 to 619(60 a/c)

Peace Xenia IV f-16 001 TO 030(30 a/c)

Xenia is a Greek word meaning hospility,generosity or courtesy.
