En net om 19:43 weer eerst een melding internal error en daarna too many connections.

Correct. Begon bij mij om 19:40 en duurde tot ongeveer 19:55.

(Best wel lang in verhouding met andere keren, ook mail deed het niet BTW.)

Is het nog wel zinvol dit allemaal te melden? Scramble weet hier toch van? Het enige wat ik me kan bedenken is optimaliseren van c.q. de database of de code van de website?

Maar goed, ik weet natuurlijk niet wat er allemaal 'achter' deze site zit :-)

Wel komt het de laatste tijd regelmatig voor, maar ik neem aan dat het aantal bezoekers is toegenomen door alle jaren heen...

It's terrible, this happens far too often. Hans is continuously trying to solve this, in co-ordination with our provider, but it seems very hard to find the solution.

Yes, we are aware, but until now we haven't found what it exactly is what causes this.

This certainly influences it, but the same forum software also runs on much larger Message Boards without problems. Most likely it is part something in the software, partly we on a shared server - together with some 200 (!!) other websites.

But unfortunately the provider is not very cooperative :-(
Most likely we just have to deal with it until we switch providers - which is in the pipeline, no date set, but hopefully this year.
