Beauvechain airshow 20/21 July 2009
On baha.be there was this text about a new SF260 demoteam:
Having been confirmed by the General Staff and the Public Relation service of the Belgian Air Component it can now be revealed that a new demonstration team on the SIAI Marchetti SF260 has been created for the 2009 display season. Since several weeks, the new team is preparing and organising the demo, they will be present at various air shows and aerial manifestations in Belgium as well as through Europe. They will perform at the Koksijde Air Display 2009 on 4 and 5 July and of course also during the Beauvechain Open Door on July 21st organised to celebrate 40 years of Marchetti operations and 300.000 hours flown by the type with the Belgian Air Component. Again composed of 4 aircraft, the team was named 'Hardship Red' originating from the call sign used by the Marchetti for training flights at Beauvechain.
As you can read they mention an air show at Beauvechain on July 21st, anyone with more info on what to expect on this day?

Re: Beauvechain airshow 21 july 2009
Open door, not airshow July 21 is the national parade in Brussels, I think you can expect most of the participants to pass over the base, it would mean breaking formation a minute later than they usually do, and perhaps a demonstration by the F-16 and the new Marchetti team of course.

A digest from what is on mil.be plus info from other reliable sources (participating aircraft already mentioned above):
20 july: base open for current or former Marchetti-personnel, 1W training personnel etc ONLY, based on prior registration; rehearsals for independence day flyby + static show
21 july, 0900-1200: spotters day, entry €10 or for €30 you get an additional package with a badge, a DVD, a pin and the new book on the Marchetti in Belgian AF service (from the guys that brought you the fouga book: Serge van Heertum, Marc Arys and Flash Aviation) released July 20; static show and flyby's
21 july, 1100-1800: open door, FREE entrance; including the departure of aircraft for the independence day parade over Brussels and other flying activities.
Looks interesting; pity it is on weekdays (but it's a day off in Belgium...)

Re: Open door at Beauvechain 20-21 July 2009 !?!
I sent an e-mail a few days ago to register and up till now I don't have an answer. I don't think you can't go wrong with sending one and letting them know that you want to participate... What if there is 'suddenly' a limitation in the amount of spotters who want to participate??? Just my 0,02...Polleke_NL wrote:Do you need to pre-register for this event ??jeroenow wrote:info and registration:

Got this extra info from 1W PR:
Dear Spotters friends,
Thank you for your interest in our Spotters day of the 21St of July 2009.
Hereunder you can find some more details (although not yet definitive):
- NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED
- NO PRE-PAIEMENTS POSSIBLE
- You will have a privileged parking close to the static area.
- Once parked, entry will be paid upon your arrival: 10 euro or 30 euro with an historical package (including the book about the history of the Marchetti)
- You will be welcome as from 0900L until 1200L, although you're still welcome to stay during the public part but will loose your spotters privileges (the only one you will probably keep is the possibility to take some take-off and landing pictures close to the runway)
- You will probably get access to the Ops Zone, although this will depend on the arriving and rehearsing aircraft. I can't make any promises about this yet.
- An update of the participating aircraft can be found on http://www.mil.be" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
