Wiesbaden (ETOU/WIE) - 2009 MIL
Hi,
I noted that Wiesbaden is closed and that the Heli's are spread on bases in the neigbourhood. Therefor I want to ask if it's worth the effort to go and watch the arrivals of Kingairs and the choppers back at 13 arpil?
And are they spotterfriendly over there? I've never been there but would like to go though
Thanks!!

Re: Wiesbaden, 13 april
Hi,
They are not that spotter friendly and I wouldn't expect them to get back exactly on 13th.... They will arrive during a number of days...
Regards,
Oscar

Re: Wiesbaden (ETOU/WIE) - 2009
I have spend a lot of time near/along the fence at Wiesbaden and never experienced problems. Some tips (which are probably common for all air bases).
1. Stay low profile, so don't park your car along the fence but for example near the Garden market (Southern landing).
2. Don't spend to much time at the same spot, so after your picture is taken move back to a less recognizable spot.
3. Don't take pictures of their infrastructure.
4. For pictures, morning shots are difficult because you have to position your at the base side of the runway (very close to the maingate). Wait till the sun moved to the other side of the runway.
kind regards Maarten

I have been there too. and have never experienced problems either, not even when the profile was high.
Guess it depends on the security level and who is on duty....

Wiesbaden is usually so dead, you would have trouble working out if the base was closed or not.

Re: Aviano (LIPA) - MIL 2009
That thread mentions only three C-23s. Wondering whether there only three coming to Wiesbaden, or does the 4th take another route..Thijs wrote:See also:
