Twisteden - Irrland Park

Post by SWAT 11 »

Hello all,

On our way to Niederrhein I made a short stop at Irrland at Twisteden. The following aircrafts were seen:

(MM6356) G-91T Tiger c/s, former Italian Air Force, unmarked
(4602) Mi-2 green c/s, former Polish Air Force, unmarked
--- An-2 red c/s, unmarked and unknown airframe
--- PZL-101 white/black c/s, unmarked and unknown airframe

Does someone knows more about the An-2 and the PZL-101?

In a field next to Irrland (on the side of the An-2) are remains of a large aircraft. Wings, parts of the fuselage and a motor exhaust can be found. Our thought are a Atlantic, but the remains were out of reach because they were laying in the midle of the field. Does someone more about these remains?

best regards,

Arno Cornelissen

Sorry, can't help with the Atla or similar. One question though: can you see the Mi-2 from outside or do you have to enter the park? Will be useful info for a future trip.... :wink:

Hi Patrick,

The Mi-2 (green/blue) is just like the red An-2 high on poles in the "Funparc". You can even picture it from the outside, with partly a fence and/or tree in front off it. The tiger Gina is good from outside and the PZL-101 in safari marks is also visible from outside, when I was there june 2007.

Hello,

The remains at the other side of the road are from G222TCM MM583/RS-07, ex RSV. Present are both wings (with roundels), tail (with RSV badge), a large rear fuselage part & a minor central fuselage part, beside several other minor parts. The engine exhausts mentioned are also present but in my opinion NOT belonging to a G222........
Indentity was discovered comparing many pcitures found on the net , in combination with c/n plates found stating "G222 NC-02" (=c/n 4002).

Wkr,
Remco

Twisteden - Irrland Park 01-07-2008

Post by r.e.hendriks »

Hi all,

I visited the Irrland Park in Twisteden yesterday.

Was surprised to see the ex-AMI G-91 in a very nice Tiger c/s.

The following was noted:
MM6356/60-56 G-91T-1 ex AMI Tiger c/s
4602 Mi-2 ex Polish AF c/n 544602016
... An-2 (still unknown)
... PZL-101 (still unknown)

I had a look inside the An-2 and PZL-101 but coundn't find any c/n plate.
I only found one small plate inside the An-2 cockpit with 31516 on it. But this is probably the serial number of some radio equipment.

Also the PZL-101 didn't have any c/n plates as far as I could see.

So if anyone can help me with these.....

Thanks a lot...

Best regards, Rob.

Theoretically this could mean it is the former RA-31516 (c/n 1G199-25).

On 15 March, we passed Irrland and noted not only:
- the FIAT G-91-T in Tiger c/s fitted on a pole;
- the Mil Mi-2 with Irrland markings fitted on a construction;
- a red An-2 fitted on a construction with a number of gliddingpaths outside the aircraft;
- the G222 fuselage in a pasture outside the location.....

but also 3 fuselages of G-91s? with a number of stapled wings with Italian AF markings! on the location next to Irrland on the left of the road to the G222 fuselage (this fuselage is on the right of this road) :lol:

Topic moved here from Europe Civil, most airframes seem to be (ex) mil.

That's a very good theory....
Especially since the number is mounted on the radio, which is usually done to remind the radio callsign.

Anyone else an idea?

I was at Irrland Twisteren today. Didn't see any G-91 fuselages. Only the G222 wings and engines were seen.

You have to look to the right side near the crossing when you leave the Wemberstrasse / Im Auwelt and turn to the Kevelaererstrasse. The Irrlandsite with the red Antonov and the G222 in the pasture are on the right of this part of the Kevelaererstrasse and the fuselages are on the left. The fuselages and wings are laying in the pasture against the buildings and there are also some parts noted near the bushes along this pasture.

So, near the corner Im Auwelt / Kevelaerstrasse.
At the google-map, the image of the mill is close to the point where You can find the fuslages and wings:

@jack.

The ''fuselages'' you mean are actually the engines of the G222....

:oops: ....thanks, when we passed it was rainy, even to rainy to make a photo, and the parts lay against the building.....so the stapled wings belong also to the G222?
:(
