Report being carried on BBC states a helicopter with 18 persons on board has crashed 47 nautical miles(87 Km or 54 miles) south east of St John's the capital of Newfoundland.One survivor has been rescued,and the search for the other 17 is ongoing.
The crash helicopter was ferrying workers to the Hibernia offshore oil platform.
