It's been a quiet start to the year, but to kick things off:

Ryanair (FR/RYR), Ireland, has converted options on 13 Boeing 737-800s into firm orders.

Korean Air (KE/KAL) has ordered an additional 2 A380s from Airbus, increasing the number it has on order to 10.

And one that slipped through while I was on holiday:

FedEx Express (FX/FDX), has exercised options for an additional 15 B777Fs from Boeing, adding to the 15 of the type that they already had on order.

Korean Air (KE/KAL) has placed an order for 6 A330-200s from Airbus.
Korean statethat these aircraft are to be used for additional capacity, and not to replace existing aircraft.

Boeing is the first aircraft manufacturer which sold the fist (few) widebody aircrafts of this year. On the new revised update, it sais that Air New Zealand bought one 777. Two other aircraft of the 777-series are bought by yet unknown owners. However, the net order of 2009 remains under 0, in fact -10.

Canberra, I see what you mean. The words I picked for this bulletin are not the best I conclude. It must be:
Boeing has sold the first (few) widebodies of this year. Being 777's for an unknown customer and one for Air New Zealand.
The 15 777F's for FedEx aren't firm yet.

Hope this solves the misunderstandings!

Bombardier Aerospace announced today that Deutsche Lufthansa AG, the launch customer for the CSeries aircraft program, has signed a firm purchase agreement for 30 CSeries model CS100 (formerly C110) single-aisle aircraft. These aircraft will be operated by Lufthansa’s subsidiary Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. The agreement also includes options on an additional 30 CSeries aircraft.

Based on list price, the contract value for the 30 CS100 aircraft is approximately $1.53 billion US.

The aircraft will be delivered starting in 2014.

ATR has booked an order from Royal Air Maroc (AT/RAM), for 2 ATR42-600s and 4 ATR72-600s, with options for two of the latter.
The aircraft will be used by the new subsidary Royal Air Maroc Express which will be launched this summer.

Bombardier has snagged another order for the CSeries:

Irish leasing company Lease Corporation International has ordered 3 CS100s and 17 CS130s, and taken options on an additional 20 CSeries aircraft.
This is the first order for the larger variant.

As per Boeing's last order update:

Alaska Airlines (AS/ASA), has ordered an additional 4 B737s from Boeing. The variant isn't specified, but I expect that they will be -800s, one of which was also ordered in February.

Another order for Boeing that quietly slipped through, is Gulf Air (GF/GFA) exercising options for an additional 8 B787-8s.
This brings the total on order for Gulf Air to 24.

Boeing and Turkish Airlines have finalized a deal for 5 Boeing 777-300ER's.
Turkish is already leasing 3 777-300ER's from Jet Airways.
With this deal, an amount of $1.36 billion is involved.

Kingfisher Airlines (IT/KFR), India, has ordered 5 A350-800s from Airbus.
This means Kingfisher has finally converted their existing order for the original A350 (non-XWB) into the XWB.

KLM has converted an option for 7 additional Embraers into a firm order. According to Peter Hartman, they still have the choice for the Embraer 170 or Embraer 190. The extra Embraers will be delivered from the end of 2010.
