OK, let me rephrase: It was denied to be a formation. Local papers inquired at Volkel and Eindhoven PAO what was going on, because the various aircraft one by one gathered, started flying formation, were photographed by a PC-7 and then made one low pass over Veghel and Eindhoven. All this took about 30 minutes, so many people noticed. But both PAO's said nothing special was going on. My reasoning was: If it was legit, they would have just said: "We had a nice formation for the anniversary of our transport-squadron, made some nice air-to-air shots and finished it off with a low-pass over our home-base."
So maybe I should have said: This is not a formation. Didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. BTW, anyone ever seen the air-to-airs, or got them on the ground at Eindhoven? My vantage-point wasn't the best.
