(notes: due to the fact that almost all participating aircraft had left in the course of the Thursday, the decision was hard to spend the night in a hotel and wait for the presumed departure of the four Hellenic F-16s that Friday. However, as these F-16s were equipped with conformal fuel-tanks, giving them quite another, more impressive look, and with the outlook for some more supporting transport aircraft, I stayed in the Florennes area. The Friday morning was blessed by extraordinary good late-autumn weather, and activity around those “Block 52s” began early. All four of them were seen in action during the morning but only one pair finally went airborne and this sight was really worth waiting for. The number of support aircraft was impressive too, with two Greek, three Italian and three Spanish transports recorded arriving. Activity of eight based F-16s was on the more usual side but of course welcome too. However, due to my increased interest in agricultural photography, I left Florennes soon after midday and headed for a life demonstration of some real monsters of the sugar beet field. All in all, a very good final of my aviation and TLP year 2008!)
