Harvard PH-KLU belly-landed at Lelystad 07 nov 2008

Post by frank kramer »

Harvard PH-KLU, painted as RCAF 20249/XS249, made an emergency landing at EHLE/LEY/Lelystad Airport on friday november 7, 2008 around 16:30 lt. Reports state engine trouble on take off as the cause; the aircraft apparently departed the runway and came to rest on its belly in a freshly ploughed field and about 2 metres from the airfield fence. There were no injuries reported, but the aircraft sustained damage to (at least) the underside, a bent prop and a broken cockpit window.

That is correct; saw that post too late. However, in hindsight, I would suggest leaving this topic here as it might be somewhat easier to find than the embedded item in the "Spotting Neth/Belg"-"LEY 2008" section.
