My oldest pictures from EHAM

Post by FALCONCREST »

These scans are made by my late father.
I think around 1967.
Anyone having photo's from that period or even before?

(Lets say: till 1980)

see the DC-3 from Martins Air Charte in the background ?

Image

Those were the days that security wasn't a real issue, nor sound restrictions.

Image

Do not really now were this shot is taken. East? Anyone ???

Never mind the background, love the electra's

Looks like boys were behaving differently in those days to, "hands behind your back now", yes mum! (is it showing that I'm a parent too these days)

if you have more, get em on.

Wow , Loftleidir and Seaboard World Airlines. How extremely cool to see those on SPL.

And check out the fences on the pics with the little boy(s). You can climb right over them. Unimaginable these days.

Keep them coming.
I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

Rob;

please attach a warning with you're entries:

" Not suited for "yesterday's aviation enthusiasts" with weak hearts "

This shots are so great!

No discussion on prop blur or image stabilizing lenses, just great shots from the time a photo camera was a tool, and you had to be quit a good photographer to get these results with it...

Please keep em coming...

In that days, all those very interesting planes were just as common as the nowadays 73,4,5,6 and 77's, Airbuses, Embraers etc. In about 30-40 years you'll have the same feelings when you see your (and other one's) 2008 pics. Every airplane will become a classic....be patient !

Oke, but I think they look more and more the same, and the engines get more uniform...

And 30 /40 years ago there where not as many spotters with camera's as nowadays..
