Wow, that whole area was broken up just a few years ago! I visited the
area just after it was de-owned by the KLu and right before they started
the demolition. Incredible to walk around through that area, quite a few
dispersals over there, hangar C, engine run-up building, a very old
(German) runway threshold, facilitybuildings, the whole sha-bang. Plus
taxitracks and dispersals that I didn't even know existed, behind 'De Dijk'
flightline! I still regret not taking the "FOD gevaar" sign at the threshold of
the old Germany runway running between the battery-hill and hangar C.
It's simply is a damn shame everything is gone now, would have made a
great location for an aviation museum (Well, Piet Smedts is too late
now...

).
