Not yet. I guess the detailed programme will be available just within a few weeks on the website and/or on the info note which you get with the ticket you bought.

ok, the URL refering to I do see a small barrier or is the visitors area on a 'hill' and the taxiway in a 'valley'?

How about scanners? Are they allowed in Hungary?

Grandstand

Post by aviodromefriend »

I was informed by a RSS Feed this week there will be a grandstand at the show. Unfortunately, this was in hungarian. Can our hungarian members inform us about what the show wants to make clear in this, please?

you can see the grandstand on this picture, marked as "tribün":

http://www.repulonap.hu/airshow/rovatok ... _bazis.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

it costs 20.000 HUF/day (~ 80 Euro)

1520 numbered places
food 2x
drink 3x

Can anyone mark good places for taking photos at this map?

Definately not right next to the grand stand on either side, as the platform there has a 2.5m high concrete jet blast deflector.

Last year there were different fences on the left and right side of this platform.
To the left they were 1.6 meter high, to the right they were 2 meters high.

Somewhere near the turn in the taxiway should be a nice spot.
You're closest to the runway, and most aircraft come taxiing by right in front of you on their way from / to the flightline on the center platform in front of the grand stand.

Do you mean a place next to the static display? I think that I will be closest to the runway, if I stand there.

On the right-hand side you are a bit closer to the runway, but last year there were 2 meter high fences on that side.
So not the best spot if you want to take pictures.

I meant the spot on the left, near the turn in the taxiway.
Find the tower on the map, near Kapu 1.-2. and go straight up.

If you stand even more to the left, near the platform, keep in mind that the terrain is a bit uneven there, and there's a slight ditch behind the fence.
So you're standing lower than the taxiway if you're not at the fence itself.

You can book tribun tickets via this e-mail address: zsuzsanna.thur @ ostermannf1.hu
It contains the entry fee for the show.

Maybe an example is in order. The below, uncropped picture was taken from an earth made blast wall along platform #4. Lens used was a 300mm with 1,4 extender.

Photography on the runway is very hard at Kecskemet. If you don't want to bring a stepladder and don't want to use the grandstand, the blast wall is about your only option. Problem however could be that they don't like people standing on that wall (like last year during the start of the show; later on it was no problem).

Elmer
