W&R in the Kleine Brogel area?

Post by frank kramer »

Being near Kleine Brogel the next week, I would like to know if there are any wrecks&relics in the neighbourhood that are easily accessible. I know of the aircraft on the Pampa ranges, and of the aircraft on KeeBee itself, but: are there any others around? If I remember correctly, there used to be a Mig21 at Lommel. Is it still present, and if so, where? Any help would be appreciated!

W&R Kleine Brogel neighbourhoord

Does anybody know any W&R nearby KB besides the a/c preserved on base and the F-104 on the roundabout?
Another question, where is the spot to see the preserved a/c on Eindhoven, and are they photographable from outside?

Maybe the mod can make a new topic for this question if that is better in spotting NL&Belgium

Could you define "nearby"?
Some options for you might be: Sanicole itself, with a SF-260 fuselage in a hangar and a F-84 preserved. Pampa range with 2 F-84 parked there as a decoy.
Lommel, just north of Peer (near the Dutch border) with a MiG-21 and a Jet Provost. Maasbracht in NL, with a Harvard and MiG-21.

See 51°26'50.79"N / 5°23'28.20"E in Google Earth. From the A2 take the exit towards the airport (don't know which exit number) From here keep the airfield and builidings on your right hand and drive clockwise around the base. You'll spot them at the right side. Don't know if you can stop along the road.

Groeten,

Stephan
