Harriers

Post by sentinel »

Leandro's logs are impressive. Living in Lajes must be a sort of dream for guys like us.

I know that there is no such thing as spotting in Sigonella but could someone perhaps confirm if there are two stranded USMC Harriers there from the last visit?

Hello,

I have just talk with a spotter friend of mine and he said that there are some harriers there from the last visit, he thinks that they are 2.
I will try confirmation with my brother there, or with another spotter.
Right now i´m at Portugal Mainland for the next 2,5 months studying :( :( so i cant confirm it myself.

And living at Lajes, yes!!!, it is niiiiiice, sometimes there is no movements there, but other times you see LOTS of nice planes, and it is only 7 minutes in my bicycle or 3 in car from my home.

Kind Regards,
Leandro Rocha.

Harriers going west

Post by sentinel »

Ten AV-8Bs should be in Sigonella today heading statside via Lajes. I do not have any record of these Harriers deploying east in the last six months of so. The only ones I have are from VMA-231 which deployed in March 2007! So maybe someone can help with identifying these Harriers which I'm sure will go through Lajes in the next few days together with their support KC-10s.
