:bonk: That camera is to be confiscated immediately. I would even suggest that if it was a Canon. 8)
BTW, the 976 is 'best' read on the nose.

According to latest news, there was really a swap of Spang Vipers at Balad AB, Iraq. On January 29, 2008, from a well-informed source I got the info: "I can tell you that 12 F-16s from Spangdahlem are heading for Balad today as Trend21 and Trend31". And at least according to a brand-new news article: http://www.spangdahlem.af.mil/news/stor ... =123085325" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; at least the main body of the 22nd EFS returned February 6, 2008, probably aboard a civil airliner. Anybody spotter at Spang who watched the departure of the 23rd EFS F-16 fighter package or the arrival of the 22nd EFS F-16 fighter package?
Four F-16s arrived at Aviano last wednesday: 91-0418b, 91-0343r, 91-0338, 91-0351r as Cube 71-74, departed to ETAD yesterday afternoon as Sting 01-04.

Thanks, Maurizio! But are you really sure in case of 91-0338? At least in my eyes it could be an error or typo. From another reliable source, some days ago I got the info that six F-16s were scheduled to fly from Balad AB, Iraq, to NAS Sigonella, Sicily, as Cube 71 on February 11, 2008. Quoted serial numbers were:

91-0336 22nd FS, 91-0343 22nd FS, 91-0344 22nd FS, 91-0351 22nd FS, 91-0408 22nd FS and 91-0418 23rd FS

91-0336, 91-0351 and 91-0418 were already identified as deployed for OIF by photos taken at Balad AB or in the skies over Iraq. 91-0343, 91-0344 and 91-0408 are absolute new to me. And if correct, they should be the remaining three aircraft of the twelve-ship 22nd EFS fighter package which were not identified by deployment photos.

And because you added no "r" (= red for the 22nd FS) or "b" (= blue for the 23rd FS) to 91-0338 in your reply, it could be possible that you spotted 91-0336. By the way, 91-0339 (22nd FS) was also verified as deployed by photos.

On the other hand: If 91-0338 (22nd FS) is correct, either 91-0344 or 91-0408 must be false.

well, J.J.,

just forgot to add the "r" next to 91-0338 wich belived to be read off as such, now obviously have some doubts that this is correct....anyway some guys here have taken shoots of all four Vipers, so I will confirm the right serials for 338 as soon as I will chek theirs slides.

Yes, but not directly - 03 was going off station at 1300Z and routing to Geilenkirchen to collect a part, then flying back to Waddington to deliver the part (ETA 1430Z) then departing to Spangdahlem.

EDIT: NATO03 (ZH101) dep Waddington 1520 for Spangdahlem.

Thanks for your reply, Maurizio! I´m looking forward to that. Photo proofs are the best deployment/redeployment proofs for individual aircraft (if date and location are verified correctly)!
