F16D AV

Post by Ergo01 »

Just to avoid confusion.
Last wednesday (28 nov) F16D AV 90-796 visited the TLP. It landed before the launch and departed a few hours later, and did not come back.

Hi Ergo01,

That's what I thougt too, but I saw a log on MSF or Touchdown and that person said there where certainly 2 AV f-16's on the platform and 3 where flying.
Thanks for clearing up that F-16D 90-0796 AV departed.

Just heard om Magic Command (Geilenkirchen) that today's TLP mission has been cancelled due to the weather.

Typo? All the B-models carry CE as prefix
Just saw a picture on the Photo forum, and indeed it has the "normal" CE.15-12 on it, nothing like C.15B....

Thanks for the report!

Additions:
The single seat Spanish Hornets are EF-18Ms, as can be seen by the small white GPS dome behind the antenna on the fuselage.

The twin is the CE.15-12 and could be an EF-18BM.

The C295M has code 35-39.

See you.

Damm, was there today but the TLP mission was cancelled.
All aircraft were outside except for the Italien Typhoons.

Do you know what time these HH-3F's arrived or do you have any serials?

One F-16 (FA108) arrived at 12.32hrs and that was all we have seen flying. We left at 13.45hrs because of the heavy rain.

DJ

Post by Patrol321 »

Hi all,

Does someone know were the HH-3's are normally parked on the ground? Can they be seen from outside the base?

TIA

The helispot is on the secundair (parallel) runway, on the west approach end. Normally they should be visible from the old bunker on the west side.

Last TLP the Pelican's were parked near the green hangar on the north side of the runway, and they operated from the main runway as well (at least the day that I was there).
Considering the windy weather conditions, I would expect them to be parked inside as much as possible.

Today the Pelicans were also parked outside at north of the runway on the platform near the large green BAF-hangar.

TLP-mission was cancelled today, sadly. Maybe because of strong winds, mud was flying in our (Niels Hoogenboom, Mark Verstraten, Rob Hendriks and me) faces there. Despite of that, local F16's flew 2 missions, also the Spanish F18's, Italian Typhoon's and the FR Aviation Falcon 20. We also had a nice visit of an Italian C130J-30, winning serial was MM62181/46-46.

Anyone for the Pelicans?
