Ho ho, not from a carrier, but it ain't that difficult. They are still operational at Isfahan (45 minutes flying from Teheran, 15 euro one way) and from the civil terminal you look straight into the QRA shelters. In February we saw 5 on the first day and 4 on the second. They still do fly!

Erwin

P.S. and they do look much better!
I see that reading Dutch is an art: I said - I'm not counting Irani Tomcats as no regular person will have a chance to see them fly.

So you say 9 of them.. and how many did you photograph?

Another Golden oldie.

My first real foreign jet as a beginning spotter.

It was 1982. It was the family day at De Kooy and rumours were widespread about the possible arrival of the Harrier on our small helicopter field. While being completely ready with my Practica camera with my just acquired converter, giving my 50mm lens a needed boost, the jet was arriving.
Based on previous encounters with the regular Dutch Jets ( you know, stafs and NF-5s ), I had settled myself at the best position.

With the slow arrival of this Harrier I noted that indeed it was the best position for a full frame composition. But I was also exactly in the blast of the exhaust! Deafening it was.

But...well worth it!

Even if some of these pictures are not new to some of you I thought it was the best way to enter this forum and topic.
Will post many more in the following days. Many others available in my site.
