IB A340 of runway at UIO (9 nov)

Who can confirm this :?:

At UIO (Quito) an Airbus 340 of Iberia skidded from the runway.
Even the ILS equipment of the runway is damaged.
Airfield close till 03:00UTC / 22:00LT

More damaged than expected:

UIO will be closed this weekend Sat 10 nov & Sun 11 nov because of this accident.

Looking at the picture I guess this bird most probably will be written off...

I'm not so sure.
From what I can see on the photos, there doesn't appear to be all that much damage to the fuselage, and the Nos. 1 and 2 engines seem to have sheared off relatively cleanly at the pylons.
On top of that, consider that the aircraft has only been in operation 20 months, and when you look at what Qantas did with their 9 year old B744 that had a runway overrun in BKK and suffered similar damage, it wouldn't surprise me if they repair the aircraft in Quito.

The first flight of this one was at feb 2006, so it must be heavely damaged to write this one off.

Puf, lucky the aircraft didn't glide a few meters further... Otherwise it could be a same crash as the Air France in Toronto.

Does anyone know how the structure is of this airbus where the engines are attached to the wings, do they have a certain breakbolt that let's go when a certain side stress occurs to protect the ac for further structural damage?

As far as I am aware shearpins are required for engines under the wing.

Looks like a big repair job. there seem some photo's from the inside of the ac where they claim there is a big damage as well, but haven't found those yet.

Question: why do allmost all the companies from whom an aircraft has crashed, paint or put a sticker on the airlines name? About everybody knows this is/was an Iberia aircraft? Imago? But that's allready a little bit too late.
