(notes: last minute decision for this trip due to very good weather and last sunny day forecasted that week - hoping for the two HH-3Fs taking part in this CSAR mission - first time at the Western Approach since more than a year - full TLP mission with 28 aircraft and not one ground-abort! - a lot of changes compared to "my" last week's mission: 2 x "new" F-4F, 1 x "new" 'AV' F-16, 2 x HH-3F as two-ship, one "new" JaboG 31 Tornado, one "new" based F-16 taking part in the TLP mission, both Italian Tornados flying - nice recoveries with four-ships of AMX' and EF-18s plus Italian F-16s and Spanish Mirage F.1s. A perfect day, a perfect log!)

In the evening of Wednesday 24 October there was a 3rd Hawk of 100sq on the TLP ramp. It had an extra yellow stripe over its fuselage/tail. Who knows its ID?

Departure day surprise

Post by Ergo01 »

Today we hoped for many AMI and AME transports.
At 0830 46-55 landed in semi-darkness.
Later on the French CASA departed that landed yesterday.
For other nationaties perhaps a lucky shot, but we were discontent with the total current Netherlands AF fleet of C130s G-273 and G-275 acting as TLP transports.
Luckily at 1 pm 31-51 (AME KC-130) landed.
Belgian visitors were CE-04 and H-06.
If we have counted well, no TLP aircraft were left behind at 1315 when we departed.
Oh, grey and overcast today.
