Not that much ole. Only 2 arrived just before 10.00 after performing a nice low approach. But again, with full scale emergency. Don't know if they gonna make 13.00 departure though...

Bye,
Oscar

Spanish Mirages

Post by Eric van Lisdonk »

Hi all,

Here is some more info about the Mirages in Ramstein.

The whole formation of 4 Spanish Mirages F-1's were inbound Ramstein for the fuelstop, but the people on the tower didn't expect these Mirages. They ask the leader of the Mirage F-1 formation for some paperworks, but the pilot said. "We have that critical paper on board , but i give it to you after landing, because he could't find it yet."
RS tower said that they have no permission to land, and the leader of the formation said that they are low on fuel. After a heavy discusion the leader declared an emergency due to low on fuel, and the other 2 diverted to Buchel. The 2 for RS landed safely.

Nice to see that spotters know yesterday that the Mirages were coming to RS and the people on the tower know nothing at all!!!!
Maybe it is time to put some spotters on the RS tower

Cheers,
Eric

REQ: Ramstein security

Post by Rabbit »

Hello all,

I wonder if how the security at Ramstein is at this moment. Beacause of the so called terrorist attack plans a few months ago.

Is it a problem to be near the fence since then or is is just like normal?

Cheers,
Jeroen

edit:
Mods, i posted this topic in the wrong forum. Please can you put it in the right one?
